We are thrilled to announce that Jenny Wilson will join us – before her concert at Voxhall – to talk about her musical inspiration and play some of her favourite songs by other artists!
Swedish singer Jenny Wilson began her musical career in the 90s alternative pop band First Floor Power. Since her successful 2004 solo debut “Love And Youth” – including massive indie hits ‘Summer Time – The Roughest Time’ and ‘Let My Shoes Lead Me Forward’ – she has released the albums “Hardships!”, “Blazing”, “Demand The Impossible!”.
Her latest album “Exorcism” from 2018 deals with surviving a sexual assault and has received stellar reviews for its raw musical, political and emotional power. The Wire wrote: “That Wilson can turn such trauma into vibrant, addictive pop music is a testament to her abilities …”, and The Guardian called the album “a masterclass in catharsis”.
Jenny Wilson is an inspiration to fans and other musicians alike, and in this live on stage interview we will talk about – and listen to songs from – the artists that have inspired her. The interview will be held in English.
