Body Positive Life Drawing v Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen
The Anti Diet Riot Club and Art Macabre are teaming up to bring a fresh and fierce focus to life drawing in London!
This class is all about celebrating the body positive revolution and how life drawing can promote positive body image in drawers/models alike. We aim to represent all shapes and sizes in our models of choice AND through opening up the floor to volunteers who may want to try life modelling for the first time.
Play with mark making, collage and drawing at these positive, welcoming and inclusive community-feel events. Models will pose in naturalistic yet powerful poses; sharing their beauty, both internal and external, to inspire drawings that celebrate bodies no matter what size/shape/sexuality. This workshop will also invite participants to think actively about perceptions of our own bodies before and after we draw, with intention setting and a sharing session after the art-making finishes.
Art Macabre's Death Drawing Salons have run body-positive life drawing events since 2010, starting as fundraisers for the DIY arts event Ladyfest Ten.
The Anti Diet Riot Club is a new rebellious community giving a platform in London to body positive campaigners and anti-diet professionals, in the hope that they can inspire more people to fight back against diet culture!
Doors open at 6.30 & event starts at 7pm!
