Available Jones at The Half Moon v The Half Moon Putney
Bluesy and soulful with great songwriting, Available Jones features, ex Dirty Tryx members Neil Howarth on bass and Jonathan Kane on Hammond organ and backing vocals, Raw Deal's Des Horsfall on vocals and the highly regarded guitarist Chris Preston from legendary blues rockers Slack Alice. The band also features new guitar hero Miguel Montalban regarded by many as the best guitarist of his generation gaining millions of hits to his YouTube channel. Montalban was recently invited by Roger Daltrey to perform at his annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit in London and was introduced onstage by Rod Stewart by satellite link from his Los Angeles home.
In the mid-80s Des fronted blues-rock band Raw Deal, managed by Alexis Korner until his untimely death. In the 90s, Howarth, along with other Dirty Tryx members would often feature in Horsfall's backing band supporting internationally renowned artists such as The Tractors, Joe Ely, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris amongst others. Moving on to 2018 - Horsfall has recently released ‘Chameleon’, a collaboration with legendary Who guitarist Pete Townshend while Howarth and Horsfall are midway through recording the Available Jones debut album.
Howarth has this to say about the sound of Available Jones..”we're not making music for anybody else but ourselves. I`m just writing and playing the music that I want to hear. It may sound selfish, but all of my heroes played music that more than anything was honest and heartfelt”.
Those influences (Free, AC/DC, Skynyrd, Boston, Montrose, UFO) can be heard in the classic hard rock sound of Available Jones.
