Beer Ingredient Series: Water v Alewife Craft Beer Bottle Shop & Tasting Room
We’re excited to add a fourth class to our Beer Ingredient Series in 2018!
Beer is mostly water, yet it is the ingredient that most casual beer drinkers routinely overlook. Water is full of minerals that not only affect the taste of beer, but also significantly impact the brewing process. Each type of beer has its ideal brewing water profile. Historically, local water profiles helped shape the evolution of many classic beer styles.
In this class, we look at the various minerals found in water and how each impact the brewing process. We’ll discuss the historically important water profiles of cities like Plzeň, Burton-on-Trent, and Dublin and their impact in developing some classic beer styles we know and love.
The class is $25 and includes educational presentation, handouts, and beer tasting. All attendees participating in beer tasting portion must be 21+ years old.
This class is led by Kelly Pickard, Certified Cicerone.
