Songwriter Scott Wilcox is a father of three kids, a husband of 24 years and until 6 years ago was a middle school special education teacher. One day, one of his students challenged him to use his musical talents, and so he wrote a song, sent it to Oprah Winfrey, and she loved it. A year later he won the coveted Bob Dylan Songwriting Award and won it again the following year. Since then he has appeared on every major network as well as NPR.
