Marie Dahlstrøm kommer oprindeligt fra Roskilde, men flyttede i 2010 til London, hvor hun hurtigt blev kendt for sit output af smukt udformet jazz-inspireret RnB. Fans fra hele verden er blevet fortryllet af hendes eklektiske og fornyende tilgang til genren. Hendes musik synes at skabe en yndefuldhed ved at bestå af en helt masse, men samtidig lyde ganske enkelt, hvilket skyldes de mange lag af bløde harmonier og smittende lyrik. I juli udgav hun EP’en ”Kanel”, som blev optaget på kun en uge i Korsica med produceren JNTHN STEIN. Det intense afbræk fra distraktioner har resulteret i fem sjælfulde numre med stærke hooks, hvor soul/jazz inspirerede instrumentale arrangementer får lov til at blomstre i elektroniske beats og samples – alt imens at hendes skønne vokal stråler igennem.

Hailing from Roskilde, Denmark, Marie Dahlstrøm quickly became known for an output of beautifully crafted Jazz flavored RnB since she moved to London in 2010. Her eclectic and refreshing take on the genre has won her fans across the globe. The real joy of Marie Dahlstrøm’s music is that it seems to do so many things at once without ever seeming to do anything much at all, which is the epitome of gracefulness. It consists of wonderful layers of smooth harmony and infectiously sultry soulness. In July she release the EP “Kanel”, which is the Danish word for Cinnamon. The EP, produced by JNTHN STEIN was recorded in one week in Corsica.The intense yet rewarding session meant that they could get away from any distractions and focus solely on recording. The result is five soulful tracks with chorus hooks, where soul/jazz inspired instrumentale arrangements get to flourish in electronic beats and samples – while Dahlstrøm’s vocals is as beautiful as ever.
