Sunday Song Club Showcase - Lindsay Ferguson v Clarks on Lindsay Street
Sunday Song Club Showcase at Clarks on Lindsay Street, Dundee - Free Entry.
Over from Switzerland and touring Scotland this summer, Lindsay Ferguson was born to sing. Her multi-octave, opera-trained voice
is her most powerful instrument, able to create pulsing rhythms and vibrant, eclectic melodies, complete with evocative lyrics that speak to every listener. Her charisma lights up any room, while her warmth and humour charms audiences of all ages. Her style of music is a fresh take on contemporary folk/pop with a touch of country/hip hop.
Born on the island of Bermuda, Lindsay has traveled extensively, with her guitar and songs in tow, whether exploring the lively musical traditions of Newfoundland, the ancient lore of Ireland, the wilds of British Columbia or embracing the many seasons of Quebec’s Gatineau Hills. She
currently divides her time between a picturesque farming village in Switzerland and the equally picturesque artistic community of Wakefield in rural West Quebec.
In the last ten years, Lindsay has recorded three full-length albums and several EPs of her own songs, acting as her own label, manager and booking agent. She has shared stages with a wide range of artists, including Tegan & Sara, Steve Earle, Ron Sexsmith and Kathleen Edwards. Touring has brought her across Canada and Europe, and she has showcased at countless
festivals and music conferences, including Ottawa Bluesfest, St. John's Folk Festival, Blue Skies Music Festival, Canadian Music Week and North By NorthEast.
Lindsay’s latest project, her first live recording, was captured during an intimate concert in Bern, Switzerland. It will be released in the very near future!
"The music and lyrics pick you up like big safe arms and bring you in
close and tight. Just like a hug from the person who has your heart. The
music is home." CHELSEA MILLER – RADIO 96.5 HALIFAX
